Coral Jockey

Oil and Acrylic on Canvas

30" x 40"

Another piece in the Archimedes gallery up for the month of August. I am trying to comment on the cycle of life, death, and renewal within nature. The complexities of nature can seem vast but rather I think that nature can be quite simple. Its that simplicity of natures design that i find so much inspiration.  To often within the structured confines of society we lose that sense of wonderment that is instilled into every fiber of nature. Many people are so worried about there own mortality that they lose track of how beautiful and simple nature is.

With the Coral Jockey, an animal (horse) has passed on.  And yet new life has taken root.  Displayed and on view we see the properties of life, death and renewal within the narrative. Too often I find many people forget the beauty of life, the inevitable loss of life and the renewal of life. Perhaps the viewer might find a sense of wonderment within the imagery of the Coral Jockey?
